You care about your home and the well-being of those who live in it. That’s why it makes perfect sense to hire local professionals who specialize in chimney cleaning and inspections . . . so that your home remains in tip-top shape all year long.
Homeowners do themselves a big favor when they follow Chimney Safety Institute of America recommendations and get their chimney inspected and cleaned about every 12 months, especially if the fireplace is in regular use.
Chimneys accumulate a heck of a lot of creosote and soot, flammable substances which can become caked on the interior of the chimney’s masonry work. Creosote represents a fire hazard and should be periodically removed, lest you risk your chimney getting clogged and/or starting a house fire.
JCS Home Services believes that the only good chimney cleaning is a complete chimney cleaning. That’s why we provide a complimentary Level One chimney inspection with every chimney service we do – because we want our customers to be totally educated on their chimney’s condition . . . from chimney cap to flue.
Then, after the cleaning has been performed, the JCS chimney technicians show the customer all the creosote and soot we pulled out of their chimney (often, it’s a lot!) and we discuss any needed chimney repairs we discovered during the inspection and cleaning process.
Every chimney job we do comes with a free Level One chimney inspection. Using a flashlight and our highly trained eye, we visually examine the components of your chimney that we have access to, including the outer hearth, inner hearth, firebox, throat, smoke chamber, flue, and exterior masonry. From this inspection we’re able to provide the homeowner with recommendations on maintaining and repairing their chimney.
Customers have the option of requesting a Level Two chimney inspection by their JCS Home Services technicians – and this is a really smart option, especially if your chimney hasn’t been inspected in a while (or ever). In a Level Two inspection, the tech uses video equipment to look at everything – all the components included in a Level One inspection and then some.
We’re looking to find any gaps or cracks in the bricks and mortar joints or weaknesses in the chimney structure, and we’re writing down our findings. After a Level Two chimney inspection, JCS provides homeowners with a complete written report detailing the chimney’s condition and suggesting any needed chimney repairs.
